Central Coast Future Leaders

Leadership training and academic and personal development opportunities for young people and their families.

My name is Jannet Rios. I’m a sophomore at Marymount California University. My involvement with Central Coast Future Leaders (CCFL) began the summer of 2008 when I attended their Summer Leadership Camp. Through CCFL I participated in community service projects, university trips and leadership camps. I was on the student council as historian, vice-president and president my senior year of high school. CCFL empowered me to become a strong leader. It taught me to build networks and use my resources.  Now that I’m in college, I continue to come back to CCFL in hope of empowering future generations. Thanks to my involvement with CCFL and the leadership skills that I have gained, I will be representing my university at women’s leadership conference this summer. Apart from representing my university at a leadership conference, I will also be Community Assistant (CA) at the resident halls this incoming academic year. I believe that my leadership skills obtained through CCFL are what encouraged me to apply for such a highly competitive and respected position.

My name is Romero Perez. I am a sophomore at Humboldt State University majoring in Environmental Resources Engineering. In winter of 2012, my friends encouraged me to participate in Central Coast Future Leaders and have stayed involved since. Being a part of this organization has allowed me to participate in leadership camps, college workshops, and university trips. CCFL has opened various opportunities by actively allowing me to help in my community and meet new people while enhancing my leadership skills. CCFL has helped me become the person I am today because I was encouraged to go beyond my comfort zone through public speaking and setting out to achieve my goals. As an incoming freshman in college, I was excited to apply the tools CCFL has taught me to pursue a career in Environmental Resources Engineering. Being part of other organizations such as Ballet Folklorico and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) has enabled me to build a new group of friends as well form new networks, just as CCFL has provided me. I look forward to giving back to this amazing organization because I would like to inspire younger students to make a change in our community as well as pursue their goals in higher education.

We rely on the communities we serve to keep doing our work. Please donate today!

Jorge Moran is a 1st year at University of California Santa Barbara "The path we seek to become successful in life is acquired through one or more significant opportunities we choose to take. Central Coast Future Leaders is my significant opportunity.  CCFL refined my skills as a leader, enveloped my personality with confidence I never had before and offered me numerous opportunities to grow as an individual. CCFL’s vast array of volunteer services, social gatherings, peer to peer mentoring, meetings and activities in the community drew me in with a new-found passion to giving back.   CCFL acted as a catalyst for my personal perseverance in striving to succeed in various avenues of my life goals. I held several leadership positions throughout high school, including; ASB Vice- President, Chairperson of Homeroom Senate and Vice-Chair of the high school’s budget making committee. In my ambition to fulfill my parent’s dreams I was accepted to 6 universities,  becoming the very first in my family to attend college.  I am currently a freshman at University of California Santa Barbara.  Because of my love and dedication to the organization, I was able to accumulate more than 850 community service hours; due to this in large part I was able to  acquire more than $12,000 in scholarships. Central Coast Future Leaders is not just another community service group, but rather a family of developed leaders seeking to teach and lead others into becoming the essence of youth empowerment for our community."
